TODAY Rockies at Marlins, 5:10 p.m., ROOT, 850 AM
Juan Nicasio has overcome a late start in pro ball, a slow climb through the minors and a broken neck. But he has yet to accomplish one thing: win a road game. Nicasio deserved a victory in Los Angeles on the last road trip. Nicasio owns a 1.31 ERA in visiting parks this season, second-best in the National League. The right-hander insists that his right hip is OK after getting struck by a line drive in his last outing against the Diamondbacks, which contributed to his abbreviated start. He faces Ricky Nolasco, who is looking to become the Marlins’ all-time wins leader. He shares the mark at 68 victories with left-hander Dontrelle Willis.
