Classical music: Ars Nova exits with a bang

June 1-2. We’re giving you advance notice on next weekend’s Ars Nova season finale events because they look especially promising. First, they’ll offer a chance to hear two of the region’s musical wonders: the Kimball pipe organ at St. John’s Cathedral in Denver and the Austin-Morel organ at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Boulder. Second, the group will premiere some new — and local — music, including an a cappella work titled “Shakespeare’s Love,” by Colorado composer Paul Fowler. Also on the program: Arvo Pärt, Henry Balfour-Gardiner and more. You choose: 7:30 p.m. June 1 at St. John’s Denver, 1350 Washington St., or 7:30 p.m. June 2 at St. John’s Boulder, 1419 Pine St. $6-$22. 303-499-3165 or
