DURANGO, Colo.—An 11-year-old La Plata County boy is recovering after he was shot in the ear with an arrow while playing a medieval knight using a shield.
According to the Durango Herald ( ), the boys took turns on Thursday using a garage can lid as a shield to deflect the arrow as the other shot it. The arrow missed the shield and pierced the boy’s upper ear.
The youth was not identified and investigators say the injury was accidental.
