Phil Mickelson’s connection to Colorado spans beyond The International, the now defunct PGA Tour event at Castle Pines. In 1990, during his college career at Arizona State, Mickelson won the U.S. Amateur Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club. Twenty-two years later, on Aug. 13-19, Cherry Hills will host the U.S. Amateur for the first time since Mickelson’s big victory.

Tickets ($17.50 daily, $85 weekly) are on sale at King Soopers locations and online at . Fans 17 years of age and younger will be admitted free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
