Would-be rescuers are searching Skagway Reservoir in Teller County after a report of a man falling from a capsized canoe this morning.
The man’s name has not been released.
A person who saw the canoe paddled out and found debris floating in the water, but as of late this afternoon there had been no sign of a body in the reservoir east of Victor, the Teller County Sheriff’s Department stated.
A dive team from the Colorado Springs Fire Department is searching the lake.
The that Frank Aguirre of Westminster said he saw the man go in the water after the canoe tipped about 9 a.m
He said the man was screaming, “Help, Help.”
