DENVER—Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials say anglers across the state can wet their lines free of charge this weekend.

The Denver Post ( ) reports the department waives the license requirement the first weekend in June each year to promote fishing in the state. Anglers can take advantage of roughly 2,000 lakes, ponds and reservoirs, as well as 10,000 miles of streams and 37 of Colorado’s 42 state parks.

Though no license is required this weekend, all other regulations apply, including applicable catch limits and bait restrictions.
