DENVER—Authorities say they have made an arrest after a student from Iran was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle while walking his bicycle across a Denver street.

KMGH-TV ( ) reports 45-year-old Andrew Simpson was arrested Monday on suspicion of vehicular homicide and failure to report an accident. Police say he was arrested after investigators received a tip about a Jeep with front-end damage consistent with a collision.

Witnesses had said they saw a Jeep leaving the scene of the accident that killed Masoud Bahramisharif (mah- SOOD’ – bah-RAM-e-sha-REEF’), who was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street on Thursday. The victim’s hometown was not available.
