AVON, Colo.—Authorities say a 30-year-old Avon woman faces several charges stemming from the death of a 3-month-old boy.
Avon Police Lt. Greg Daly says Tanya Amanda Baca was arrested Wednesday on charges of domestic violence, third-degree assault and child abuse causing death. She is being held at the Eagle County jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
Police were called early Wednesday morning to investigate injuries to the Avon infant who had been taken to the Vail Valley Medical Center, where he later died.
The Vail Daily ( ) reports Baca is set to appear in court Wednesday. Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Churches says no attorney was listed in Baca’s booking documents.
