Robert Hawkins is a fourth-generation Montanan and fishing guide. Hunter Weeks is an award-winning filmmaker and Denver local. The Yellowstone is the longest undammed river in the contiguous United States.

“Where the Yellowstone Goes” is the result of all three combining for a 30-day fly-fishing journey from Gardiner, Mont., to the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri rivers at Fort Buford, N.D., nearly 600 miles downstream.

“People are becoming more aware of how important our nation’s waterways are,” said Weeks, who will attend tonight’s screening at the Denver Film Center and conduct a Q&A session afterward. “I think this film will really resonate and help people understand that they can do something.

“This isn’t just about fly-fishing and conservation. This is a real story of life.”

Showtime is 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. The Denver Film Center is located at 2510 E. Colfax Ave.
