Museum: Father’s Day free at Nature & Science
Sunday. Now more than ever, it’s a good time to be a geek: Celebrate science this Father’s Day at National GeekDad Day at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. GeekDad Day, sponsored by Wired magazine and the Department of Education, aims to draw families into the museum for a new kind of Father’s Day. Check out the museum’s collection of regular exhibits and participate in special GeekDad activities like crafts, face painting and a “Secrets of the Dioramas” tour. Mr. Bones, the paleo-puppeteer, will be showing off his life-size dinosaur puppets, too, and “Creature Teacher” the Jungle Lady lets kids see and touch exotic animals. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd.; 303-370-6000. Admission is free — it’s an SCFD Community Free Day. .
