COLORADO AT VANCOUVER 5 p.m., ALT
Spotlight on F Darren Mattocks: The Jamaican speedster terrorized Houston’s backline, scoring twice in Vancouver’s 3-1 win over the Dynamo last Sunday. Mattocks was the second overall pick in this year’s MLS SuperDraft and has three goals in five games (two starts) this season.
NOTEBOOK
Rapids: Tough decisions have to be made given the turf field at BC Place, but the Rapids could have several previously injured players available for this contest. Forwards Conor Casey (hamstring) and Omar Cummings (ankle) returned to training this week and could play. Also, Brian Mullan (knee) could return. Midfielder Jamie Smith (knee) will suit up for the first time this season, returning from a torn ACL he suffered last season.
Whitecaps: This is the second of a three-match homestand for Vancouver, which defeated Houston 3-1 last Sunday to kick it off. … The Whitecaps have never beaten Colorado in their brief history in MLS. The Rapids own a 2-0 series edge against Vancouver.
