LAKE GEORGE, Colo.—Evacuation notices have been lifted for homes near a wildfire burning near Lake George in Park County.
The fire was 40 percent contained Friday.
The Gazette () reported that the fire stopped growing Thursday after a quick attack by 140 firefighters and multiple engines. The firefighters included 10 smokejumpers flown in from Grand Junction.
Residents of eight homes had been advised to evacuate.
