A 15-year-old boy who was burned while warning neighbors of a wildfire is back home.
J.D. TenNapel and father returned to their Cedaredge home Saturday from Sacramento, Calif., where the youth was treated for burns he suffered June 8 while riding his all-terrain vehicle through flames to warn neighbors of a fast-moving fire.
The fire prompted evacuations and burned about 60 acres.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), TenNapel likely will have to return to Shriners Hospital soon for a checkup.
