A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket lifted off from Space Complex-41 in Cape Canaveral, Fla., today following a delay due to problems with an environmental control system duct.

The aircraft is carrying a payload for the National Reconnaissance Office. The mission dubbed NROL-38, is the first of three critical missions scheduled to launch within the next two months.

The next launch is scheduled for June 28, from the Space Launch Complex-38 also at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

This marks the 50th successful Evolved Expendable Vehicle (EELV) mission. Twelve out of the 50 missions have been in support of National Security for the National Reconnaissance Office.

United Launch Alliance program management, engineering, test and mission support functions are headquartered in metro Denver.
