Missy Franklin begins her quest for the 2012 Olympic team this morning when she swims in the last of 17 preliminary heats of the 100 backstroke at about 9:35 a.m. MDT.
If she has one of the top 16 times, she advances to tonight’s semifinals at either 7:15 or 7:21. She is ranked second in the event.
