that the city’s Independence Day celebrations would not have fireworks this year.
There will be a July 4 celebration at Sweetwater Park, but because of a decision by the board of the Douglas County Fire Chiefs Association to ban professional fireworks displays, and the governor’s ban on open burnng, the fireworks display has been canceled.
