DENVER—Denver police say thousands of officers are expected to attend the Saturday funeral of a Denver officer who was shot and killed during jazz festival at city park.
Thirty-two-year-old Celena Hollis was shot Sunday night while responding to a disturbance. Hollis was a single mother and a seven-year Denver police veteran. She previously worked as a police officer in Detroit.
Hollis’ funeral will be at the Denver First Church of the Nazarene and burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
A public viewing is scheduled for Friday at Horan and McConaty mortuary.
Police have arrested 21-year-old Rollen Oliver on suspicion of first-degree murder in Hollis’ death.
