LOS ANGELES — Actress Doris Singleton, who played one of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo’s lesser-known neighbors on “I Love Lucy,” has died. She was 92.
Lucie Arnaz, daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, confirmed the death Tuesday in an email to The Associated Press and in a post on her Facebook page.
Her character, first called Lillian Appleby and then Caroline Appleby, appeared in 10 episodes. She was Lucy’s neighbor, the wife of a radio station owner.
Singleton was a professional ballet dancer in her teens, and later became a singer and radio actress. She appeared on dozens of other TV shows in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s.
