The Pine Ridge fire, which is 13 miles east of Grand Junction , is now 95 percent contained, Pine Ridge fire information announced early Tuesday evening.
According to a news release from the Colorado Office of Emergency Management , the fire’s activity has slowed but isolated burning within the interior is expected to continue. Fire officials do not anticipate the perimeter of the fire, which began on June 27, to grow.
There are 532 personnel , three helicopters and 35 engines fighting the 13,920 acre blaze that officials determined was started by lightning.
