The Beach Boys will bring their 50th anniversary tour to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Monday, and there’s a few things fans can rely on. No. 1: Mike Love will wear a baseball hat with his band’s name stitched to the dome. No. 2: Brian Wilson will play his instrument better than anyone on stage, though he will never, ever, not even once, smile. No. 3: The vast majority of the Red Rocks audience will sing all of the choruses emphatically, then become conspicuously absent during the verses. Regardless, classic summer songs on a summer night at a summer-only venue is a hard thing to beat. Tickets, $39.50-$79.50, are available through Ticketmaster.
Lower Dens is a dramatic indie-rock band from the same Baltimore, Md., scene that spawned the likes of Beach House and Wye Oak. Its compositions are layered, winding affairs with syncopated percussion and dour vocals. The band’s 2012 release, “Nootropics,” makes for an excellent headphone listen (not the kind of record to throw on at a summer barbecue). Supporting acts No Joy and Alan Resnick round out the bill perfectly — be sure to get there on time. Tickets for Tuesday’s show at the Larimer Lounge, $12-$15, are available through .
