AURORA, Colo.—A former Aurora police officer who pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a teenage girl has been ordered to serve at least 90 days in jail.
Prosecutors said Thursday that a judge stayed a three-year sentence for Michael Mangino for five years on the conditions that he immediately serve 90 days in jail and comply with the terms of a Sex Offender Management Board treatment program.
Mangino had been involved with the DARE anti-drug program for kids when he was an Aurora officer.
He was arrested last year on accusations that he had sexually explicit pictures on his cell phone of a 15-year-old girl who had been arrested. He pleaded guilty last April to sexual exploitation of a child.
