Southshore by Pulte: Amenity-rich lifestyle allows few reasons to ever leave the neighborhood

Getting your player ready...

In a year when homebuyers hear much about driving or riding into Denver for entertainment, Pulte Homes’ Sharon Ellis will show you a neighborhood today that’s the polar opposite of that – a place buyers like so much that they tend not to leave home. “With all of these amenities and with the shopping at Southlands, families have the flexibility of staying right here to get the things they need,” said Kimberly Armitage, executive director of Southshore’s private Lakehouse community center, across from Pulte’s model home.

Pulte has something else at Southshore totally out of line with what most other builders report – ranches that are so large and popular that Pulte sells as many to families with school-aged kids as they do to older buyers whose kids have flown the coop.

Either buyer is a good fit with Southshore’s amenities – starting with a big saltwater pool that looks clearer and smells cleaner because it has no chlorine. It’s surrounded by shoreline grounds so appealing that Lakehouse attracts dozens of weddings (a big one was staged there yesterday). Pulte’s residents use Lakehouse constantly – 22 in for an evening yoga class last week; more coming for strength training and ‘zumba.’ Kids get swim teams, arts/crafts, movie nights and other ‘kids-night-out’ events that end up giving a break to mom and dad.

Whether that would appeal to your own kids (they get Cherry Creek’s Fox Ridge/Cherokee Trail high/middle school campus as part of the package) or to your grandkids, you’ll like the looks of Pulte’s ‘Morningside Lane’ ranch model – 2,816 feet on the main and again as much in the basement; plus full-width 3-car garage. After your tour the model, Ellis and Tony Polson will show you another that Pulte has on track for early move in – an added 1,400 feet finished in the lower level, on a pretty cul-de-sac. It has sprawling oak floors on the main level, premium countertops and stainless appliances, low voltage lighting upgrades, smart home features, and surround-sound.

It’s at $559,000, walking distance from Lakehouse, the trail around Aurora Reservoir, and from residents’ private SENAC Lake where Southshore’s team offers private canoeing, kayaking, and even occasional fly-fishing lessons. You’ll see two other ranches and a Pulte family-sized 2-story that are ready now; and you can hear about four final lots Pulte has at nearby Wheatlands (homes from the $250s). Head two miles east from E-470 on Smoky Hill Road to Arapahoe, left past the schools to Powhaton, left to Southshore Pkwy, and right a half mile, just past the Lakehouse.
