 The average cost of a gallon of gasoline in Denver decreased last week while the average cost nationally increased.

The average cost of a gallon of gasoline in Denver on Sunday was $3.55 a gallon, having fallen 2.3 cents during the week.

This compares with the national average that increased 3.8 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.41 a gallon, according to the gasoline price website .

Prices in Denver on Sunday were 11.9 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 9.5 cents a gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has decreased 15.2 cents a gallon during the last month and is 21.4 cents a gallon lower than this day one year ago.

Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for , said that after a dramatic decline in gasoline prices in virtually every part of the United States last month, prices have started to rise.

“While I don’t necessarily believe that the recent uptick in crude prices will stick, I also don’t see prices falling considerably lower until after the conclusion of the summer driving season, when demand declines, and more expensive blends are phased out,” said DeHaan.
