The Denver Metro Chamber’s 2012-2013 chair-elect is Donna Lynne, group president of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan .

Lynne was voted into the position unanimously by her fellow board members at a meeting Thursday.

Lynne has served on the chamber’s board of directors since 2005.

For the next year, she will serve as chair-elect under the incoming 2012-2013 board chair John Beeble, president and chief executive of Saunders Construction.

Kelly Brough, president of the Denver Metro Chamber, said Lynne has proven herself a community leader.

Brough said Lynne has a passion for “creating and promoting excellence in education and, of course, proven expertise in the health care arena.”

“Our members consistently rate health care and education as top concerns, and Donna’s priorities align with our members’ focus perfectly,” said Brough.

From 1998 to 2005, Lynne was the executive vice president for Group Health Inc., a $2.5 billion managed health care organization. In the mid-1990s, she was also the executive director of the New York Business Group on Health.

In Colorado, she serves on a number of boards, including the Colorado Legacy Foundation, Colorado Mountain Club, Colorado Regional Health Information Organization and the Denver Public Schools Foundation.

“I am excited to take on the role of chairperson of the chamber’s esteemed board of directors,” said Lynne. “This is a real opportunity to promote the value and importance of Colorado’s business community and use my background to help move us into a thriving, healthy future.”
