How made Team USA: Won 20K race walk at the Olympic Trials June 30, setting an American record by breaking the mark set by his current coach, Tim Seaman, who was also in the race.
2012: Finished 40th at the world championships.
Career highlights: Barron was the fastest junior race walker in U.S. history and holds multiple national records. He began race walking when he was 9, and after placing second in his age group in 2002 he won four consecutive national titles. Shortly after winning in 2006 he had brain surgery to stop epileptic seizures. He has been seizure-free since then.
