Spotlight on David Ferreira: After missing nearly 15 months because of injures, the 32-year-old FC Dallas midfielder played the full 90 minutes in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw against San Jose. The 2010 league MVP suffered a broken ankle in the sixth game of the 2011 season and, during the preseason, Ferreira injured his Achilles tendon and needed surgery. After missing 46 games, he returned July 4 when he checked in during the 57th minute. He’s had two shots since returning to the lineup.

Rapids: Colorado acquired defender Tyson Wahl from Montreal on Friday in exchange for an international roster spot to be used in the 2014 season. The 28-year-old Wahl, a seven-year MLS veteran, made 82 appearances in the regular season with Kansas City, Seattle and Montreal. … This is the start of three games in eight days for Colorado, which has lost its past two games and four of its past five overall.
FC Dallas: The team picked up midfielder Julian de Guzman on Friday in a trade with Toronto for midfielder Andrew Wiedeman. De Guzman, 31, has played in MLS for four seasons and has two goals in 65 matches. … FC Dallas (3-9-7) has not won since April 14, a stretch of 13 games that includes five ties. FC Dallas is 0-7-1 this season on the road, and this is the team’s first road game since June 16.
