The Rapids acquired defender Tyson Wahl from Montreal on Friday in exchange for an international roster spot to be used in the 2014 season.

The 28-year-old Wahl, a seven-year MLS veteran, has made 82 appearances in the regular season with Kansas City, Seattle and Montreal.

“Tyson is a natural left-footed defender with good skill and size,” Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said in a release. “We’re excited to be able to add such an experienced player without compromising our roster flexibility as we move into the second half of the season.”
