STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Phone lines at the Steamboat Pilot & Today and Craig Daily Press were inoperable for the second straight day on Tuesday.
Incoming calls to the newspaper’s primary phone number as well as to any of its individual employee extensions are met with a busy signal.
A CenturyLink spokesman apologized for the error Tuesday.
Phone problems at the newspaper offices began Friday afternoon when calls were routed to an automated message that said the number had been disconnected.
That issue stemmed from a request filed with CenturyLink by Tom Ptach, owner of Pilot Office Outfitters, to have his business phone line disconnected.
The request resulted in CenturyLink mistakenly disconnecting the phones at the Pilot & Today and Craig Daily Press offices.
