All lanes on southbound Interstate 25 in Thornton were scheduled to be closed at least an hour Tuesday night so that inspectors could check damage caused by a too-tall semi that hit a bridge about 4 p.m.

Stacey Stegman, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation, said at 9 p.m. that I-25 would close within the hour. She said the work would take about a hour. Once that’s done, travel would probably return to normal.

The semi was hauling concrete silos when it hit the Thornton Parkway Bridge, denting the walkway that runs alongside it. The accident shut down two of the three lanes for most of Tuesday night.
