While Jumbo and Barr reservoirs are under fishing salvage, those hoping to fill their coolers have been disappointed. For most anglers, better options are to head into the high country — or south. South Park reservoirs continue to produce a few nice fish, but there is no consistency with what works. Bass anglers concentrating their efforts early and late are taking a few nice catches on topwater lures. Don’t be afraid to fish late into the night and use a lot of pauses. Those willing to drive north will find the Red Feathers a nice visit. Nothing big, but the action is good for rainbows. Work bait (or troll lures) during the day, and fish flies early and late.
