DURANGO, Colo.—Rain has helped firefighters trying to contain a roughly 500-acre wildfire southwest of Durango.

The fire was 75 percent contained Tuesday night, and pre-evacuation orders have been lifted. Rain fell on the burn area Monday and Tuesday.

Lightning from a storm Saturday is believed to have started the fire, which was reported Sunday on Southern Ute tribal land.

Fire officials estimate the fire will be fully contained Thursday night.
