DENVER—A federal grand jury has indicted two Denver-area men accused of selling more than 500 cartridges of explosives and two sawed-off shotguns to undercover federal agents.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Denver says 48-year-old James Bradley Coet of Denver was arrested last week and has a detention hearing scheduled Wednesday. Nineteen-year-old Nathaniel Paul Hailpern of Arvada was still at large Monday.
Both men are charged with unlawful acts with explosives. The indictment alleges they knowingly possessed explosives while being addicted to methamphetamine.
Coet also is accused of unlawfully possessing explosives and sawed-off shotguns and possessing firearms required to be registered under national law.
Coet’s public defender didn’t immediately return an email seeking comment Monday night.
