The Moffat County Coroner has identified the three men killed in the head-on collision near Craig as Raul Torres-Rodriguez , 35 , of Fort Collins, Christopher Karschner , 22, of Rangley and Luis Terrones-Ortega , 19, of Greeley.
Coroner Kirk McKey said that all three men died on scene Saturday morning from blunt force trauma.
Torres-Rodriguez drove the Audi A4 traveling westbound on Highway 40 around 2:30 a.m., according to a news release.
Torres-Rodriguez and passenger Karschner wore their seatbelts. Terrones-Ortega who sat in the backseat did not.
The Audi traveled into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a semi-tractor trailer driven by Rickie Jenkins , 53, of Casper, Wyo.
Jenkins escaped before his vehicle was engulfed in flames. He was treated and released from Craig’s Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
