DENVER—Federal officials say one of two men charged with selling 500 sticks of dynamite to undercover agents told an informant he sold dynamite to someone else in May.
James Bradley Coet is charged with unlawful acts with explosives and other counts. Prosecutors say he sold explosives to undercover agents twice in late June.
U.S. attorney’s spokesman Jeff Dorschner on Tuesday declined to identify the buyer in the earlier alleged transaction, citing the ongoing investigation.
Dorschner said the buyer was not James Eagan Holmes, who is charged with killing 12 people in a theater on July 20 and rigging his apartment with explosives designed to detonate if someone walked in.
Holmes is accused of stockpiling weapons and bomb-making materials before the theater attack.
Coet’s attorney didn’t immediately return a call.
