For a second afternoon in a row, rain and, in some locations, heavy thunderstorms raked across the state Tuesday afternoon.
Forecasters expect Wednesday to be much the same , as the continues to push rain into Colorado.
A severe storm that passed over northwest Elbert County and northeast Douglas County at about 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The storm packed 70 mph winds and hail as it passed over the Pinery south of Parker at 2:51 p.m. It was moving east 30 mph. Earlier there was a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Fremont and El Paso counties.
Southwest Colorado got heavy rain Tuesday, as well. Areas around Telluride remain under a flash flood warning until 5:30 p.m. At 3:20 p.m. local law enforcement reported between mile markers 70 and 74 “due to heavy rainfall and excess runoff,” forecasters said.
Denver has a Tuesday afternoon, and a 20 percent chance Tuesday night.
Temperatures are expected to remain around 90 degrees this week, which is , according to weather records.
