President Barack Obama’s visit to the University of Colorado Boulder on April 24 cost the campus just under $110,000, according to figures released Tuesday.

Funds for the visit will come from the university’s existing insurance rebates, not from tuition or fee increases to students or reductions in budgets across the campus, according to a CU news release.

The exact cost of the visit came to $109,237.19, with the highest amounts spent on parking and transportation services, athletics facilities and services, and CU Police staffing and support. The cost for each was $39,402.62, $21,747.59 and $21,542.34, respectively.

Other costs included facilities management costs, student affairs costs — like catering from the university’s student center — and other transportation needs.

“The visit of a sitting president is a historic opportunity for any campus,” CU Boulder Chancellor Philip DiStefano said in the release. “CU Boulder was honored to have been asked to host President Obama’s visit. His visit drew international media coverage and showcased our campus community in a marvelous way to a global audience.”
