A food-vendor employee was fired Thursday after a cellphone video captured the individual failing to follow proper hygiene guidelines at the Adams County Fair.

The employee worked for Funnel Cake Trailer, owned by Paradise Amusements. A fair attendee witnessed the employee not safely handling food and reported the incident Wednesday night.

A statement from Adams County officials termed the event an “isolated incident” but did not specify how the food was improperly handled. The Tri-County Health Department will investigate.

Mary Willis, co-fair manager, said neither she nor Melanie Snodell, the other co-fair manager, saw the video.

“So I can’t tell you for a fact what they were doing,” she said, adding that the “young lady” did send the video to 9News.
