A former middle school teacher was sentenced for possession of a controlled substance Thursday after being arrested in .
Jordan Marcowitz , 32, was given two years probation with five days in county jail according to Lynn Kimbrough , a spokeswoman for the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Marcowitz taught eighth-grade science at Shadow Ridge Middle School, part of Adams 12 Five Star Schools.
He was accused of possessing more than 25 grams of the synthetic drug known as Molly — similar to Ecstasy — with the intent to distribute.
The crime did not occur at the school.
