David DeWild faces a minimum 10 years in prison after pleading guilty this week to plotting the murder of his twin brother’s wife.
Authorities believe DeWild, his own wife and his twin brother , who disappeared in July 2003 in the midst of a contentious divorce.
David DeWild will be sentenced on the Class 3 felony on Oct. 19.
His twin brother, Daniel DeWild, was estranged from Heather DeWild at the time of her disappearance. He’s been indicted on a first-degree murder charge and heads to trial in Jefferson County on Oct. 2.
Heather DeWild disappeared a week before the couple’s final divorce hearing. Her body was found six weeks later on Sept. 4 in a shallow roadside grave in Golden. A witness saw three people around the grave, just off Highway 6, after Heather DeWild’s disappearance.
The most serious charge against Mary Roseanne DeWild, the 51-year-old wife of David DeWild, is a Class 4 charge of accessory to commit first-degree murder. Her trial has been set for October 30.
