LOVELAND, Colo.—Rural Loveland residents who rejected a property tax increase for fire service are being asked to reconsider in the November election.

Board members of the Loveland Rural Fire Protection District are asking for a 2.9 percent mill levy increase. The increase would cost the owner of a $250,000 home an additional $5 per month.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald ( ), officials are warning insurance premiums would rise if the tax fails and the district is forced to reduce service to the rural portion of the district.
