A woman was killed and a man was injured early Saturday morning after the man swerved his motorcycle to miss a deer on Highway 86 near Elizabeth, authorities say.
The accident happened at about 5:30 a.m. about a half mile west of Elizabeth, said Heather Cobler, spokeswoman for the Colorado State Patrol.
The name of the woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, has not been released pending notification of family members.
She was rushed to Parker Adventist Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, Cobler said.
The motorcycle was pulling a trailer. The two were not wearing helmets.
An earlier CSP report that two motorcycles were involved was erroneous.
Patrol officers are investigating the crash.
