LOUISVILLE, Colo.—A Louisville company is hoping to take part in a program to recycle satellite parts in space.

The U.S. government has awarded Altius Space Machines a contract to provide engineering services to the Phoenix Program, which aims to retrieve valuable components from non-working satellites and reuse them.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), participants hope to use an electronic arm to retrieve expensive parts from satellites in space, including antennas and solar arrays.
