AURORA, Colo.—Coroner’s officials have tentatively identified the two people killed in a fire at an apartment building in Aurora.
The two were identified Wednesday as 64-year-old Dom Chanhthavongsa and 59-year-old Bounhieng Thammavongsa.
Coroner’s officials say both died of smoke inhalation from the fire Monday night. Firefighters say the two lived on the top floor of the four-story building.
A family friend tells The Denver Post ( ) both were immigrants from Laos who had been in the U.S. more than 20 years. Thammavongsa was a longtime janitor at a high school in Aurora.
The blaze Monday also injured 15 people. Some residents jumped from windows to escape the flames.
Fire officials were pursuing a witness report that someone with a gas can left the building.
