Music: Celebrating director Wes Anderson

Saturday: Are Wes Anderson fans as precious, twee and obnoxious as Wes Anderson movies? Well, if dressing up as Max Fischer from “Rushmore” and hearing local indie bands cover songs from Anderson’s film repetoire in an alternative art space above one of Denver’s most notorious hipster hangouts is your idea of fun, well, you’re not alone. Deer Pile — the space above City ‘O City (206 East 13th Ave.) — will host “Wes Anderson Night” at 9 p.m. Saturday. Organizers Kelsey Whipple and Josiah Hesse will project Anderson’s films on the walls as the Shady Elders, Kyle James Hauser, Marcus Renninger, Summertime Crush and Esme Patterson of Paper Bird perform nuggets of classic rock and folk music. All ages are welcome, there’s no cover, and costumes are encouraged — but not mandatory. John Hendrickson
