DURANGO, Colo.—A speed bump in Durango is getting the boot as the city prepares for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.
City officials are afraid the asphalt strip heading down a mountain road could cause accidents as riders speed across Colorado later this month.
According to the Durango Herald (), another speed bump will stay in place because it is on a straighter section of road and race officials say they can deal with it.
The race Aug. 20 to 26 will travel through a dozen host cities in Colorado, starting in Durango and ending in Denver.
