COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A young girl has been hit by a race car on the Pikes Peak Highway.
Colorado Springs police told television station KKTV the accident occurred Friday during a warm-up for Sunday’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Witnesses say the car slid into a rock the girl was standing on or near.
The Gazette reports the girl, whose father said she was 5, was treated at a hospital and released.
A passenger in the car was taken by ambulance to Penrose Hospital with a back injury.
