has been a Reverb favorite for several years. He made a surprise appearance at the 2009 Underground Music Showcase, playing a legendary set to a sweaty, packed, drunken Hi-Dive audience. We’ve since watched Slim perform far and wide — at the Fox Theatre, the Boulder Theater, at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh, on New Year’s Eve with the Avett Brothers in Asheville. Slim’s music bleeds authenticity — his raspy howl, his punk-rock strumming, and more recently, his delicate fingerpicking all provide the bedrock for his insightful lyrics.
