GREELEY- —Sharing ServicesOil and gas exploration companies operating throughout Weld County and tapping into the lucrative Wattenberg Field report continued good mid-year earnings and growth, but a bottleneck in the system of getting the gas to market slowed profits down some.
“The state of the union out there today is the producers are dealing with high pressures, unprecedented pressures that they haven’t seen before, because of productivity success,” said Kevin Williams, vice president of the North Business United for DCP Midstream, a natural gas processor and delivery company based out of Denver. “Companies like DCP are trying to find every nook and cranny of possible space to help them.”
Plans already are under way to more than double capacity at midstream and update infrastructure, but it could be at least a year before the pressure eases in an environment that has tightened way beyond initial expectations.
