She’s tough, she’s rough, she tells it how it is, and now she’s the face of drug store makeup. That’s right, will now be advising the masses on which eyeliners and lipglosses to purchase come this fall. Still not getting it? Pink is the new CoverGirl!
You’re probably just as surprised as we were. The 32-year-old pop star, whose new single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” screams “double entendre!” has always had a cheeky “eff you” attitude, and CoverGirl is nothing if not squeaky clean. But pastels, pretty noses and picture-perfect role models are now getting pushed aside, making room for the “new girl” who might surprise you. Just watch her balance an album drop, an infant daughter and a beauty contract while keeping her edge.
“I have a lot to celebrate,” the new spokeswoman said in a statement. “I called my new album ‘The Truth About Love,’ and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music, and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.” Details are still under wraps, but rumor has it Pink will be promoting an “innovating mascara tool.” Can’t say that with a straight face, can you?
But we have faith in Pink, we really do. While it wasn’t always a graceful transition, she went from troubled teen to pop queen and managed to stick around even longer than fellow 2000s charttopper and rumored rival, Christina Aguilera. “So what?” does not apply here. The girl’s got achievements, and belting vocal chords to boot. She’ll keep it easy and breezy for sure.
“With the signing of Pink, CoverGirl is celebrating ‘Beauty with an Edge’ and who better to deliver that message than someone who embodies art and attitude,” CoverGirl (hilariously) said in a press release. “Pink and CoverGirl are looking to inspire women to celebrate their individuality and never settle for a single beauty standard.”
The pop star will be joining a long list of Hollywood talent that are currently representing the brand, including Taylor Swift, Sofia Vergara, Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres and most recently, U.S. Olympic athletes Jennifer Kessy and Marlen Esparza.
