DENVER—The Federal Emergency Management Agency says Teller County has been added to the president’s disaster declaration for the Colorado wildfires.

FEMA said Monday the move makes the county eligible for reimbursement for protective measures related to the Waldo Canyon fire.

President Barack Obama’s declaration in June had covered the Waldo Canyon fire in El Paso County and the High Park fire in Larimer County, making aid available to those two counties.

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper had asked that Teller County be made eligible too.

The Waldo Canyon and High Park fires this summer were the two most destructive wildfires in state history, burning a total of more than 600 homes.
